How We Work

At Christopher Row, we have three core engagement models, depending on the search and the timeline. Most of our work is retained — but we take contingent searches where the role and the brief are tight enough to make it work for both sides.

Retained Search

For senior hires where the role is critical and the candidate pool is narrow. Typical engagements are Director through C-suite, with a 4-6 week timeline from kickoff to shortlist.

Includes full market mapping, structured candidate engagement, full reference work, and ongoing support through offer and onboarding.

Fee: 25% of first year comp, paid in two stages. Replacement guarantee on permanent placements.

Contingent Search

For Director and senior manager roles where the brief is well-defined and the candidate pool is broader. Typical timelines are 4–8 weeks to shortlist.

We take contingent briefs selectively — only on roles where we believe we can deliver. We'd rather decline a search than take one we can't fill.

Fee: 25% of base salary upon placement.

Integrated Partner Program

For companies scaling a function from one or two heads to a team of six to ten — typically post-Series B, post-data, or post-IPO. We work as an extension of your hiring team for a defined period.

Most common in regulatory, clinical operations, and CMC, where the build-out has to happen in a window and getting the first three hires right shapes the next ten.

 

Fee structure varies. Typically a monthly retainer with reduced per-placement fees.​

Brief

A kickoff meeting to define the role, the must-haves, the dealbreakers, and what success looks like at six months.

Map

Full market map of the candidate pool. You see the longlist before we approach anyone, so you can flag conflicts, preferences, and known names.

Engage

Structured outreach with weekly progress updates. Candidates are screened against the brief before they reach you.

Close

Reference work, offer support, and a check-in at three and six months post-start to make sure the placement landed.
